Jalen Williams
Jalen Williams turns in 18/9/4/2/1 line vs. Utah
Fri, Feb 21, 2025, 7:18 PM
Jalen Williams recorded a full line on Friday with 18 points (6-of-14 FGs), nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and four three-pointers in a 130-107 win over the Jazz.
Analysis: After playing in his first All-Star Game last weekend, Williams got right back to work doing what got him into the game: providing well-rounded stats. Williams hasn't scored as efficiently this season, but he is posting career-highs in points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and three-pointers, which has resulted in him providing third-round value in nine-cat leagues. The shooting woes have prevented him from being even better, but his percentages haven't been terrible. He'll look to keep it going in Minnesota to close out the week on Sunday.
Isaiah Joe
Isaiah Joe chips in 15/5/2/1/1 line off bench
Fri, Feb 21, 2025, 7:14 PM
Isaiah Joe provided a boost off the bench with 15 points (5-of-9 FGs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and three three-pointers against the Jazz on Friday.
Analysis: Most of Joe's production this season has come from beyond the three-point line, but he was able to do a little bit of everything on Friday. He only played 18 minutes, but that was all the time that he needed to provide a well-rounded stat line off the bench. Joe led the way for the reserves by scoring 15 of Oklahoma City's 57 bench points.Joe will continue to be one of multiple excellent perimeter options off the bench for the Thunder, and the competition for minutes has prevented him from being a consistent fantasy contributor.
Cason Wallace
Cason Wallace (shoulder) logs 22 minutes in return
Fri, Feb 21, 2025, 6:21 PM
Cason Wallace returned to the lineup on Friday and contributed 10 points (4-of-6 FGs), three rebounds, five assists, two steals and two three-pointers against the Jazz.
Analysis: Wallace was sidelined for Oklahoma City's final seven games before the All-Star break, but he was back in the lineup on Friday. He came off the bench in his first game back, but he has been a starter for most of the season. With Chet Holmgren now healthy, it's unclear if Wallace will return to the starting lineup in place of Isaiah Hartenstein eventually, though it could be matchup dependent. Regardless, Wallace will play a significant role on the perimeter for OKC for the remainder of the season and supply a healthy dose of a steals.
Ousmane Dieng
Ousmane Dieng (calf) absent from injury report
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 11:47 AM
NBA Injury Report
Ousmane Dieng (calf) is not on the injury report for Friday's game against the Jazz.
Analysis: Dieng missed Oklahoma City's last five games before the All-Star break with a strained right soleus muscle. While his presence means the Thunder will have another option in the frontcourt, Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Jaylin Williams being available means Dieng is unlikely to be in the regular rotation.
Cason Wallace
Cason Wallace, Alex Caruso available Friday
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 11:40 AM
NBA Injury Report
Cason Wallace (shoulder) and Alex Caruso (hip) have been removed from the injury report for Friday's game against the Jazz.
Analysis: Wallace and Caruso will be available for Friday's game, with the former's return being more impactful. Wallace has missed Oklahoma City's last seven games with a strained right shoulder, resulting in Aaron Wiggins moving into the starting lineup. As for Caruso, the February 13 loss to Minnesota was the first game he'd missed since February 3. Wallace should return to the starting lineup, pushing Wiggins to the bench.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finishes with 16 points
Sun, Feb 16, 2025, 5:00 PM
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 16 points (6-of-9 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one block and three three-pointers in the All-Star Game on Sunday.
Analysis: He had 12 against Team Kenny and added four against Team Shaq in the finale. SGA took over in the semifinal round of the All-Star Game, scoring 12 points without missing a shot while leading Team Chuck to a 41-32 win over Team Kenny. He hit a three-pointer to get them to 39 points and followed that up with a dunk to get them to the target score of 40 points. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to replicate that success against Team Shaq, which is why they lost the championship 41-25.
Chet Holmgren
Chet Holmgren records double-double in loss
Thu, Feb 13, 2025, 5:57 PM
Chet Holmgren returned to the lineup on Thursday and contributed 11 points (3-of-7 FGs), 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and one three-pointer against the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Holmgren sat out the first leg of Oklahoma City's back-to-back to make sure he was available against a Western Conference opponent in Minnesota. Playing in his hometown, Holmgren was able to record his first double-double since November while still contributing multiple defensive stats. This was only Holmgren's third game since returning from a hip fracture because they have played two back-to-backs over their last five games. The Thunder have another back-to-back scheduled shortly after the All-Star break, but when Holmgren is on the floor, he'll continue to be a fantasy stud.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander records 24/8/9 line
Thu, Feb 13, 2025, 5:54 PM
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander struggled with his shot on Thursday and finished with 24 points (6-of-21 FGs, 11-of-11 FTs), eight rebounds, nine assists and one three-pointer in a 116-101 loss to the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Not many teams have had an answer for SGA this season, but Minnesota had some success slowing him down, especially early on. SGA entered halftime having made just two of his 13 attempts from the floor, though he was still able to have his typical success from the free throw line. This was the first time since December that SGA failed to score at least 25 points in a game, which speaks to just how dominant he has been all season. He'll play in his third All-Star Game on Sunday.
Chet Holmgren
Chet Holmgren starting, Aaron Wiggins to bench
Thu, Feb 13, 2025, 2:15 PM
NBA.com
The Thunder will start Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, Lu Dort, Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for Thursday's matchup with the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Holmgren got the night off Wednesday as it was the first of a back-to-back set. He'll reclaim his usual spot in the starting lineup, and Aaron Wiggins will come off the bench.
Ousmane Dieng
Ousmane Dieng (calf) out vs. Timberwolves Thursday
Thu, Feb 13, 2025, 8:59 AM
Ousmane Dieng (calf) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Dieng hasn't recovered from his strained right soleus muscle to play. He doesn't play enough to affect fantasy basketball, so OKC's rotations should largely remain the same when it comes to the forwards.
Cason Wallace
Cason Wallace, Alex Caruso out vs. Timberwolves
Thu, Feb 13, 2025, 8:48 AM
Cason Wallace (shoulder) and Alex Caruso (hip) have been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Wallace will miss Thursday with a strained right shoulder and Caruso will sit out with left hip tightness. Isaiah Joe isn't an on-ball guard, but could benefit from this duo not playing by getting up some extra shots alongside some boosted playing time.
Aaron Wiggins
Aaron Wiggins scores 11 points in spot start
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 5:53 PM
Aaron Wiggins was responsible for 11 points (5-of-14 FGs), five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one three-pointer in 27 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Heat.
Analysis: With Chet Holmgren (rest) getting the night off, Wiggins moved into the starting lineup on Wednesday. While solid in that role, reserve Kenrich Williams was just as effective. “Kenny Hustle” contributed 14 points, four rebounds, and three three-pointers in 20 minutes off the bench. With Holmgren expected back for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves, there's no need to add Wiggins or Williams in the aftermath of Wednesday's victory.
Luguentz Dort
Luguentz Dort drops 17 points, complete stat line
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 5:53 PM
Luguentz Dort finished Wednesday's win over the Heat with 17 points (7-of-10 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), two rebounds, one assist, three steals, one block, and two three-pointers in 31 minutes.
Analysis: Dort provided solid value on Wednesday, shooting 70 percent from the field and recording a complete stat line. Over the past two weeks, the Thunder wing has provided sixth-round value in eight-cat formats. Dort can be challenging to rely on in category leagues, as the production can be inconsistent. However, he's made strides this season, providing late-round value in 12-team formats. Dort and the Thunder visit the Timberwolves on Thursday in their final game before the All-Star break.
Jalen Williams
Jalen Williams tallies 18 points in win over Heat
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 5:53 PM
Jalen Williams played 30 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Heat, tallying 18 points (7-of-15 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one three-pointer.
Analysis: Williams has been relatively quiet recently, providing eighth-round value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. While that doesn't align with his production for the season, there's no need for fantasy managers to panic and attempt to trade him. If anything, those who don't have Williams should look into the potential price for adding him if their league's trade deadline has not passed.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores game-high 32 points
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 5:52 PM
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished Wednesday's win over the Heat with 32 points (11-of-22 FGs, 6-of-9 FTs), five rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and four three-pointers in 38 minutes.
Analysis: Gilgeous-Alexander scoring at least 30 points in a game feels like one of the few things that can be guaranteed in fantasy basketball. He's met or exceeded that number in 33 of the 52 games he's appeared in, and overall, has been one of the best players in fantasy basketball, regardless of league format. Gilgeous-Alexander is the sixth player to go into the All-Star break as the scoring leader while playing on the team with the league's best record. Oklahoma City hits the road for its final game before the All-Star break Thursday night in Minnesota.
Alex Caruso
Alex Caruso (hip) will not return Wednesday
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 3:29 PM
Brandon Rahbar
Alex Caruso (hip) will not return to Wednesday's game against the Heat.
Analysis: Caruso played 13 minutes before tightness in his left hip forced him to the locker room for the rest of Wednesday's game. Dillon Jones has entered the rotation but is unlikely to get the minutes needed to provide reliable fantasy value.
Aaron Wiggins
OKC starting SGA, Dort, Wiggins, J-Dub, iHart
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 1:41 PM
NBA Lineups
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, Aaron Wiggins, Jalen Williams, and Isaiah Hartenstein will start Wednesday's game against the Heat.
Analysis: The Thunder are without Chet Holmgren for Wednesday's game, the first of two they'll play before the All-Star break. Wiggins will fill the resulting void, and he's worth streaming in deep leagues due to Cason Wallace also being out. That's the lone change to the Oklahoma City starting lineup.
Cason Wallace
Cason Wallace, Ousmane Dieng out Wednesday
Tue, Feb 11, 2025, 12:45 PM
NBA Injury Report
Cason Wallace (shoulder) and Ousmane Dieng (leg) will be out for Wednesday's matchup with the Heat.
Analysis: The rest of Oklahoma City's injury report is pretty clear, so the absences of Wallace and Dieng shouldn't cause major ripples across OKC's depth chart or any hard decisions for fantasy managers.
Chet Holmgren
Chet Holmgren swats five shots in return to lineup
Mon, Feb 10, 2025, 7:05 PM
Chet Holmgren returned to the lineup on Monday and contributed 12 points (4-of-10 FGs), six rebounds, one steal, five blocks and two 3-pointers against the Pelicans.
Analysis: Holmgren sat out the second leg of OKC's back-to-back on Saturday, but he was back in the lineup to take on New Orleans. Holmgren is still adjusting to being on the court after missing the past three months, but the defensive production has been there. He has played 47 minutes across his first two games back, and he has nine blocks and three steals. As he plays more games, the points, rebounds and 3-pointers will continue to improve, but it's encouraging to see him produce on the defensive end this quickly.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores game-high 31 points
Mon, Feb 10, 2025, 7:01 PM
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder on Monday with 31 points (10-of-20 FGs), one rebound, two assists, three steals, one block and four 3-pointers in a 137-101 win over the Pelicans.
Analysis: SGA played 31 minutes in the blowout win, which was more than enough time for him to add another 30-point game to his season total. The defensive stats were solid, but the rebound and assist totals were disappointing. Still, this was another excellent game for SGA to add to his MVP resume. Oklahoma City has a back-to-back on Wednesday and Thursday before the All-Star break. Gilgeous-Alexander will continue to put up elite numbers in those two games.
